I think this is WAY too much car for me... but couldn't pass it up. I've seen it - and it's too nice not to grab! Now I'll just have to not embarrass myself more than I already have.....

I was looking at the safety requirements for the Northern California Shelby Club Thunderhill event... and noticed that I had to have cotton pants (long) in Yellow, Red and Green.... Also a long sleeve cotton shirt - same colors..... and a 4 point harness in Green....

Immediately I'm on the horn with Rodger Lee asking why I'd have to have a seat belt in Green - like WTF difference that would make?? And were was I going to find cotton pants in Yellow, Red and Green.... look like a GD Eyetallian flag out there! Sheesh!!!

Then I'm emailing Charley about the color of the harness.....

RING RING -- Cell phone is going.... belly laughter on the other end so I know it's Charley.... Calling me to tell me what a dumbass newb I am....

Rodger probably was going to call but he had to go home and get clean shorts.... he probably laughed so hard...

Even my Wife is in hysterics..The green yellow red was the run groups...as in Yellow group has to have long pants...Green group has to have a 4 point harness...OMG you are going to be a handfull...

When do I get my Weld Racing Crew member shirt!

1 question can you run historic events with this car or do they only allow the real cars with proven history?

Greg, you should come out to Bondurant again. I'm headed back at some point (I put a deposit down) and I was just thinking, what I wouldn't give to ride around in the drift car with you at the wheel . Then again, if you didn't go, I'd feel better knowing someone would be killing more cones on the autocross than me.

Really? Do you have a death wish?? Does Laura want to dump you? Did she say "you go first" or any words like that??

I'd go again in a heartbeat!! I learned SOOOOOO much! It's truly amazing what you THINK you know - then they start on you - and you realize you had no clue.... This is the best money anyone in the hobby can spend. Forget more go fast parts until you've done one of their driving schools... it's truly an OMG experience. So much fun and you learn so much at the same time.

I stayed at that 'casino' thing right there - Wild Horses or something like that. It's real close - cause when you're old like me - I was whooped at the end of the day. And DO NOT MISS a chance to do the SHIFTER CART CLASS... That is a whole 'nother kick!

No...Most historic events only allow cars with race history. The Shelby Club tends to let cars like this in at their big events and I wish they wouldn't. My Shelby still has drum rear brakes and Ford front disc etc. It can't keep up with the modern cars.
