Thanks, Bill. You're right. However, that puts his inboard mounting screws within the rear frame rail area, creating the same situation I'm posing but on the opposite side. Since the template is somewhat universal I think all is well. I'm just anal and also like symmetry! I want to know it's securely mounted.

I don't blame you one bit, Rick. The last thing you'd want is a battery flopping around in the trunk.

My is positioned just like JT's. I needed to do this to mount my remote starter solenoid behind the battery. Needless to say the first hole I drilled was right in the center of the dead space in the frame rail. I have the battery mount out right and I could send you a pic so you don't drill any extra holes. Just PM me email address if interested.
