UPDATE Nice to be in the garage again. Working on the trunk floor/ bumper bracket that rusted out. I had to fix the tophat portion of the frame that I mangled, new metal was the way to go,and the tail pan needed a new piece in the corner welded in to make it right. The patch for that floor does not come with piece that climbs onto the tail pan so I have to make one, but that's another day!
At least my trunk drop off is in good condition!

Made some progress Used every tool I had to make these come together... including plasma cutter, MIG and assorted body tools. Kinda a PITA but well worth the effort, really does look better than a rusted out trunk floor. Still need to cut and weld the two together and weld the bumper bracket to the patch and the rear tail pan.
Need to spray some weld thru primer on the back (too cold right now) and drill the bolt holes.

Almost done with this side! Good to be in the garage, had to use the heater for awhile, but made some progress on the trunk floor. Welded the two pieces together and stitched the panel to the floor and plug welded the bumper bracket. Still need to plug weld the tail panel to the patch and dress up the welds.
And then ..... the other side!

Sunday Finished the one trunk patch with the bumper bracket all welded in, I'll finish with Evercoat Glass and trunk splatter and it will look nice! I rough cut the drivers side trunk floor w/o mangling the tophat structure and it was not as bad as the other side Got the patch roughed in, I'll finish it another day, should be easier this time!

I'm enjoying watching your build. I, too, have a 67 that I am building. I look forward to seeing your progress. What are your plans for how you want the car to turn out, as way of looks and use?

I am only glad to post new pictures of the progress, I know it's not a shop build and there is nothing too exciting ... but this is a home garage built Camaro that I work on a often as I can (keeps me off the couch or this dang computer)
Having a realistic budget in mind - the end result would look like the 48 Hour Camaro, stock looking but with all the right bolt on's to update the suspension, brakes and tires. A sbc is in order cuz I have all the parts from 8 years of planning, knowing that things change ... an ls2 would be nice. This is part one!

I love the garage builds Mine is a garage build. Anyone can pay someone else to build them a car. Building them yourself gives you that much more appreciation and pride for your car. Blood, sweat and tears is the real builds

Here's my garage build with my old school SBC. LS1 sitting in my shed. I preferred the SBC over the LS1. I love them both, but the SBC has a better feel and sound to me.
