Because they flow reasonably well and are quiet. I run stock GM f-body system on my car and it's nice and quiet. I must be getting old...I enjoy my car so much more now that it's quiet. I like to drive hard on the street and I don't like to announce it to everybody

No, I mean, like, why are the "turbo" style quieter?

Mufflers?

Ill be running dynomax bullets. and that's about it. Or a centered nascar style boom tube.

they snake through the muffler casing passing the glass insulation the whole time as opposed to chambered styles where its got no insulation or ones like the xr1s where they do have a insulation but its straight through design.

I am ready to pull the trigger on Stainless works mufflers but the Flowmaster 40's make me pause.
