No experince, so I guess I will have to wait for a broom pusher position to open up. Good luck.

Sometimes it seems the broom pusher position is the hardest to fill!

The best way to aquire a broom pushing job is to open your own shop.
I push a broom more than I'd like to admit

My wife and I pick up trash in parking lots by hand five days a week; I think you're onto something.

Somewhere I got the bright idea to hire some one different then a high school student to sweep the floors. I went to what we have here called BARC (Bakersfield Association for Retarded Citizens). Through that program we found a 58 year old cleaning machine named DJ. That guy can clean like no other we have ever had. Our Roll up doors are spotless. The area around the dumpster is spotless. I have him deburr cut parts for our chassis production line. Plus he keeps the Hauler clean on the inside. Just because he has a dedicated position and the time and the patience to be able to clean like he does, my shop looks 10 times cleaner then with the high school student after school or spare time when the guys in the shop do their part.

He is not the fastest guy on the planet, but he probably has the best attitude or anybody in the shop.

I have had him scrapping old Dynamat out from the floor of a car we are supposed to mini tub in today. He came in with a smile ready to get that old Dynamat out of the car.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of something like that! definatly worth a try.
I gave up on hiring high school kids, (boy, what I would have done for an opportunity to work in a hot rod shop when I was their age) Their lack of motivation and addiction to texting was pretty depressing actually. I'm over twice their age and 25 lbs overweight but I would run circles around them. - but that subject can be a whole new thread!
