Well --- it's evening here -- so we're just cleaning up and getting dressed to go out for dinner... Thus fewer posts from me - and probably at what looks like odd times.

The display of money that I've seen here is unimaginable... And I lived in New York City for 7 years... and have been to Tokyo and Hong Kong... and Beverly Hills -- and frankly - where I live now is pretty on the uppity scale (Microsoft and Amazon and Starbucks wealth) but we don't live this way... not by a long shot!

How you say, 'keep up with the Joneses' in français.

To be honest, it's so very infectious too. I'm embarrassed to admit that in a matter of 24 hours I found myself playing the "who's obviously not from here" game.

So I know this is a car forum -- but these boats outside our room are AMAZING and I'm sucked into the view like a moth to a flame...

Mr.Weld....I don't see ANY boats....All I see is Yacht's, and maybe a Feadship. Don't use the word " Boat's", around the upper crust , or they will just think you are " dingy"...

No more "Hillbilly "talk...OK ?

Oh and I know you have owned Grand Banks, some of the best Trawler's in the world, so I know that you know, You are just a kid in a candy store right now, and I am just busting your balls...And I am jealous...And you are in Shock..

Nothing in life would piss me off faster than some arse telling me about his "yacht".... that was a 32' Bayliner.... I purposely always referred to my BOAT.

Yes -- these are real YACHTS with a capital Y.

The amazing thing is the relativity of the boats in these photographs - because they are all so dang large they make each other look "normal" like a group of basketball players without reference from us short guys standing around. The 280' just looks like a nice boat. And 262' looks small when you see the 300+'r .... and then a nice one steams in... and I get a glimpse of the name and look it up - and it's ONLY 196' and it actually does look SMALL! OMG.... I can't imagine the "shrinkage" the owner has just experienced!
