All the chrome on my '32 was done at Sherms.... but what Frisbee does is has them copper it - send it back and Frisbee blocks it out - then sends it back for Chroming. I've seen other chrome that Sherms does and it's fantastic.

Hmm, then what is Sherm's process - standard triple plate is copper, nickel then chrome. Is Frisbee a third party? Sherm doesn't do the copper? Just trying to understand what you're saying.
And what happened to Lemon Grove - wasn't they one of the top platers in the country at one time?

sounds like he was saying that Sherms does the copper coating, then give's it back to the customer "Frisbee" who gets the copper as flat and perfect as possible. Then he returns it to Sherms for the chrome plating. Frisbee is a guy that demands perfection, so the extra back and forth is the only way to get it. This is not the normal procedure, and Sherm's is know for their quality regardless.

I'm not sure how Steve's could out due Sherm's on block sanding the copper. Maybe Steve's just wants more of that money in his pocket not Sherm's. Sherm's will make it as perfect as your willing to pay for.

I agree. I was just trying to explain what Greg was talking about, in my interpretation of what he said.

Sherm's will do the blocking of the copper etc for you... and IMHO they're the best plater around. They do fabulous work.
We just wanted control of the blocking process... so SAR did the copper blocking themselves.
