1112hp naturally aspirated. Not bad. The heads on Jims are not standard FE design but rather canted valve billet heads.

Here is another about to hit the dyno being built by Jay Brown with some massaged Blue Thunder castings. Jays High riser may hit 1000hp NA. You can follow his build thread below.

Jay is going to run his high riser on the dyno this weekend. If you're a fan of naturally aspirated big hp this thread should be a col read this weekend.

He is a multi time drag week winner so two things to keep in mind.

1. He is guessing low on the hp figure.

2. He is going to run pump gas and drive the thing 2500mi for Drag week this year.

Idk what Ratmans carrying on about, but thats one insane piece! Its nice to see something other then the latest LS or camaro build. This coming from a first gen owner and die hard GM fanboy.

You speak of him putting it in a mach1 and rolling to drag week? Well... Since drag week kicks off in my home town of Tulsa this year. I will definately be there, any pics of the rocket this "Warhead" is going into so i know what to look for?

He got a late start and had some problems with an injector and some possible manifold air leaks and minor other issues but it sounds cool.

So far he hit 851 hp.

No that is NOT mine. Mine is 40 ci less and I'm running Ford cast iron tunnelport heads and a Ford NASCAR dominator intake (and we'll dyno a dual quad Ford single plane with some of Blair's carbs he's going to bring).

I am going to dyno mine at Jays but not till October.

Mine is a street motor only shooting for 700hp.

my 540 is a pump gas engine, i plan to daily drive that bad boy, and drive it to the beach 1000 miles each way once i get the car sorted out
The guy built the intake and all the brackets for the external oil pump and accessory drives along with the oil pan himself.

Like I said it's a pump gas motor so feel free to go to Drag week and you can go head to head with his Mach 1 for the King of the 540 club title.

And? None of what you are saying is anything new. The popularity of Chevrolet engines makes it pretty easy to snap something together and make power, but it's not an FE Ford. Buidling one like that is the same thing as building a max effort Olds or Pontiac- crazy dollars and exotic parts. Everyone has a favorite bullet- flatheads, FEs, mod motors etc etc. Not everyone likes Camaros.
