One con for that spot was brought to my attention in CarlC's Honor Flight Camaro update thread is the possibility of collision becoming fire/arcing.
Crash = bad, crash then fire = worse.

Mine resides at right rear presently. If I relocate it will be far enough inboard to allow for future mini tubs... just in case. As it is though I thought I was smart securing it through the double layer at the frame rail.

Look up Camaro XV, Mayhem, or Red Devil... if one spot versus the other truly makes more sense from an engineering perspective you will see where that jn those.
