I've wondered the same thing, I saw Jake cursing at the mini battery in his race car at VIR last year. I'll sneak an Optima red top in there somewhere.

Finally got the ungodly awful 4x4 lift blocks out, which were locating the rear axle. Got the car to my buddy Troys front end shop for an alignment, and to square up the rear axle, got some strange stares taking it over there. It was pretty damn close for eye balling it, the quarters will be next on the list, can't wait to see how it turns out.

That's funny - that's how I feel when I start building something too. Some guys have to CAD something to perfection or have a picture perfect rendering done. I just stand and stare for several hours, hold up a few pieces of cardboard, and get to work. And I think to myself "this is going to be cool, I can't wait to see how it looks !". Like Michelangelo chipping away the extra stone until the sculpture was revealed.

That's funny Preston. I remember Bob Johnson telling me when I first started working on the Mustang, that I was doing it all wrong. First you have to have rendering done, then an engineer needs to see if is doable, you have to stick to the rendering or you'll get way off track. I was like, hell I'll have the body shaped and tweeked several times before I have the time for all that.

Yeah, sometimes I just start building the car then get a rendering done and the engineer as I go. Ass backwards but it always works out.

I know Payton is going to bust my chops for working on this instead of my AMX, but I have been finishing up the floors in my old Dodge Power Wagon. They don't make anything for those old trucks so I had to fab everything from scratch. Winding up things on this truck, so I should get on this car soon.
