Actually I think (uh oh, that's where this all got started, people thinking!!) that of all the people posting in this thread, there is probably only one that actually "knows" what he is talking about. Yes, that one is widely misunderstood. They are only supreme in the enumerated powers specifically delegated to them in the Constitution, not in the powers that they just assume are theirs for the taking. If that was the case, there would be no reason to have states at all.
