I had forgotten about SLP using the Firehawk name on the G8's. Ed Hamburger ticked off so many Firebird people when they announced that decision, but like he said, it's his name, his company, and he'll do as he pleases.

They look good though, that's for sure.

I have an 09 in white. I love it for a daily. I am hoping for a brake upgrade as they are a little lacking stock.

I have a silver '09. I love the car and enjoy when I drive it. Great value for what I paid for it new. Significantly less than the new SS that is coming our.

The new SS is a higher spec'd car than the G8 was, it has Brembo brakes, staggered wheels, all the bells & whistles. It is referred to as Redline SSV here.

Here is a link to the ute (pick up) version lapping Nurburgring, in a sub 8.20 min

http://www.holden.com.au/worldrecordute

This is with 6.0 litre, the US is getting the 6.2 LS3

The USA SS is based on the new Gen V LT 6.2 engine, it is going to be awhile before they can modify it. http://www.chevrolet.com/ss-sports-s...ml#Performance I was talking to Brian Thomson of (Thomson Automotive) about that Gen V engines, and GM has designed it so it be harder to modify.
