The new SS is a higher spec'd car than the G8 was, it has Brembo brakes, staggered wheels, all the bells & whistles. It is referred to as Redline SSV here.

This is with 6.0 litre, the US is getting the 6.2 LS3

The USA SS is based on the new Gen V LT 6.2 engine, it is going to be awhile before they can modify it. http://www.chevrolet.com/ss-sports-s...ml#Performance I was talking to Brian Thomson of (Thomson Automotive) about that Gen V engines, and GM has designed it so it be harder to modify.

My understanding is Gen IV this series, Gen V is rumoured for next series after it has been released in Corvette

The forums and the magazines report that is Gen IV, so if they are right about it. SS is supposed to limited edition, so it is probably going to use Gen IV.
