Apparently they've had some issues with a standard length cable being a bit too short. I'm going to move the bracket toward the linkage to gain some length on the cable. He also informed me that the standard pressure test isn't as good of a way to set the TV cable on the 2004R as it is for the 700R4. He suggests exactly what Greg did - - --- -set it with the pan off and make sure at idle the actuator is barely in contact with the plunger -- -

As is usual - - The Weld'man gives good advice!.

I'll report back once I've had time to try their suggestions.

It's not my first goat rodeo --- despite many on here probably thinking I've never done any of this stuff. HA!!!

I didn't know you knew how to work on cars. And we all know you don't know how to use tools.

Just glad us young whipper-snappers (well, I'm not that young any more) have old timers to set us straight.

So - -for some reason the cable was simply too short when installed per the kits instructions. I moved their braided cable adapter bracket from one side to the other on the carb bracket (closer to the carb) to gain some length and it appears to be good. I check it all with the pan off per Greg's (and the Bowtie OD guy's) instructions.

I got the lockup wiring finished up -just need to run a vacuum line, fill it up with fluid and we should be about ready for a test drive.

Thanks for the advice. Sometimes it's therapeutic just for me to type out an issue like this - it helps me think through it more clearly.

- - Brandon
