Ohhh ok. I never realized it was a customer build. That's sad. If he ever gets it together post some pictures of it!

Ok my wheels and mock up tires arrived .. I set them under the car.. yes they stick out a bit but remember they will move in about 2 inches when they sit on the hub right now they are up against the old lugs... you can also see my starting point for my gt..

I know I will need big flares but look at what they look like on the car here are some examples im thinking about... what do the masses think looks the best...
Modified Sebring Flares

Custom Flares...

SpinWerks I belive ..more of a squared fender look....

These are 240Z flares but they come in 3 inch wide version...

The Sebring or custom photos look good.

Have you seen the guy that split his MG down the middle and widened it 7" ? That is another good way to go but quite a bit more work.

The Z flares might work but they aren't that attractive in that particular photo, I don't think they could cover nearly as much tire properly either.

I like the sebring flares in both pics of the first post on this thread! They seem a little more integrated than the last options.

Have you been following Ron Sutton's threads on suspension design in the Chassis/Suspension section? Lesson learned for me -- if I were starting from scratch, I would design my supension/tire combo first. If you go a modern high-travel, low roll set-up, it will certainly drive all of your tire clearance considerations. Then I would figure out what the flare and inside fender-well shapes would have to look like to clear the suspension travel/tire combo. Finally, I would pick the flares that gave me at least minimum clearance. I would not want to be caught having to limit my suspension options because of fender clearance issues. I am still cutting up an "almost finished" car to make room for improved technology suspension design. Love your project -- good luck.
