Don, you too have a cat named Mouse? I was thinking I was the only one crazy enough to name a cat Mouse. She was tiny when I found her so I felt it fit. She's not so tiny any more, lol.

Here's a link to Nat Geo's picture contest. Everyone an amazing shot in my opinion.

Trey, Mouse is the white and orange cat above. He passed away over 3 years ago now. What a great cat! He was more like a dog in many ways. He would follow you around on hikes outside and we would never have to worry about him. He was big too.

Thank you. It's hard to accurately describe how special Dane's are, you have to live with them 24/7 to really understand. I doubt I'll be without one the rest of my life. As special as they are they deserve to live 20 years instead of 7-10.

Danes ARE great! Well said .... I hope my Dane lives as long as her father, he just pasted last summer at the age of 12, she is such a great companion.

That's good to hear. I have a couple friends who have 10 year olds.........I can only hope because we are very much wholeheartedly attached to this guy.

Great looking Dane and photos Sieg

That got me thinking about my dogs past and present.

Here is Sam at a local lake.

You'll notice he is on a leash. That's because he was a real liability. I found out why pure bred GS were used as police dogs. He would attack anything or anyone that threatened me. Actually he was given to me because he killed 2 neighboring dogs of his original owner.

Truly a one-master animal.

He was only 85 lbs when I got him, and when he passed away suddenly from an enlarged heart at 8, he was 130 lbs. He was fine one night and then in the morning the poor animal couldn't even walk. He passed at the vets a couple of hours later. It was devastating for me.

Thanks for allowing me to post this, it brings back memories.
