It may be in the cards.

We are playing it by ear but we do need to try and make some distance each day so we can complete the trip without having to make more than one marathon driving session.

So you've planned for 9 days of driving for a trip that takes 10 days (in a truck like this) -- and I figure the truck will be in the shop on day 2 -- for 2 days -- so now you're down to 7 days of driving for a 10 day trip... Then three shop tours takes another day out of there - so now we're down to 6 days of driving for a 10 day trip... 5 days of driving that POS will have you sleep thru half of day 6 because you've had your arses handed to you... so now we're down to 5.5 days to make a 10 day trip...

Just call work and resign... and then kick back and make a trip out of it.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I'm consulting my road trip buddy. He spent the first part of his life living off the land.

All I can say is I wish I could go! This sounds like an absolute blast. I think you should call the guys at bang Shift and borrow some cameras to film this trip. It's going to be epic!

I did not mention it but the truck has been at a garage in town there for 2 weeks and is handling a punchlist of "prep" items to get this thing as road worthy as we can hope it to be. Fluids change, new radiator/hoses (had leak -- paid for by seller), brake flush/check, tire check, belt check, power charger install. And an order to check it over for what you want to do if you were taking your family on a cross country trip with it. His response was "I'd ship it."

Bought a Mac tie down kit from Summit which is being delivered to the shop next week as well. The rest is in the hands of the man upstairs.

Well at least you know you've got it at a good shop.

Me too! But I'm sure they decided they couldn't afford the verbal abuse...
