Default Minor Update

OK, a little productivity for today. I was able to get the passenger inner wheel well done and tie it into the in the side panels. Took some time to get it all done. Hard when you have a rolled angle at the fender & it remains flat at the frame. I also was able to get the tranny cooler mounted. I was running out of options up front. So I opted to mount it behind the pass front tire. Should get plenty of air there. It's a stacked plate which cool extremely well, plus I went one size larger from their recommendation. They didn't think it would be problem with the location. I plan on using stainless mesh in the openings to protect the cooler from any debris. The inside of the wheel wells and panels will all by done in Raptor bedliner material. Now off the driver side which I already have a good jump on.

Brent - Shot in the dark, depending on the gauge you might consider backing up the stainless mesh with expanded metal to provide impact resistance. 3/4 minus rock at velocity could cut the stainless.

Thanks Scott. That is a good point and a very good possibility. The stainless I'm thinking about using (which I already have), is .060. So fairly thick and should be resilent. I have been thinking of something different though and powerdercoat black so it just goes away vs. seeing stainless mesh. Maybe just use perforated metal and be done. We'll see.

Hot rodders would use louvered metal plate... bead rolled... edged... pin stripped... metal flaked...

Not to sure about that Skip, but thanks for the encouragement! Would have been nice to have had this car done a few years ago as planned, really would have ben different and on the edge - but oh well. Haven't seen to many 55's in this flavor. Most are Street Rod style builds, which are great as well. Pro Rides is doing a killer 55 that is going to be real aggressive. Looking forward to seeing it done!

Default Another Minor update

Yes...It's true another update. Who wudda thought? I think I have more updates in the past month than I have in the past couple years! LOL!

So I have now finished up the driver side panels and inner wheel well.

With both sides now complete time to take action in the rear area. Going to tie it all together and run pans from the rear of the tub to the bumper. Thinking it will be 3 pieces. This will take some time. I have it sketched out what I'm looking for. We'll see how it comes out in the fabrication process.

Um ya....I'm going to have to point cleco #'s 3 and 17 on the left side are off by 3 degress, not sure it will pass 200MPH.
