I like the more subtle look. I saw a wrx rally blue with Nissan Silverstone stripes that was awesome. As others have said silvers or grays compliment those types of blues very well without slapping you in the face. (Like my white on lmb, lol)

I agree.. using vinyl to play with different color is not a bad idea. Looking forward to seeing what you end up doing with the color scheme!

I've had guys tell me to avoid trends too so the car won't become dated but I'm not too sure what that means. Most builds like this are continue to evolve and it is likely something about the appearance will change down the road no matter what happens now.

The basic problem with this is it's art and everyone loves something different. What is too radical to one is boring to another. The more I thought about mine the more I realized yes my color choice is very trendy but painting over stripes in a few years is not a big deal. So IMO if you like the black and gold now follow your gut and if you want something different as your tastes change in the future when then change it.

Well said. Paint is not permanent. Go with your gut and when your gut changes some day just give it a fresh look.

You're not alone sheck. It is pretty common we have people come in our showroom with a color in mind then they see all the colors on our speed shape wall and you can tell it turns into agonizing experience for them. There is something about choosing the color for a restoration project that makes people pull their hair out.

Default Keep it simple

Guys, so I'm leaning away from some of the crazier colours as I completely agree that these trends tend to change quickly ... so thinking about keeping it simple but still making a statement

New ideas ..
I love the classy simplicity of this

And did some fooling around

I kind of had to laugh when you said keeping it simple. That would be the only thing simple about your car!

So let me ask you something. Do you think the first guy that ordered hugger orange and white stripes said to himself “I really like this color combo but I’m really worried about it being too trendy...” LOL! Hell no he just loved to look at it and went for it!

And that's the bottom line for all of us. The best color choice is the one that is so amazing that YOU can't take your eyes off it. There is nothing wrong at all with the classy scheme you have in these drawings unless your gut says go for the gold and you don’t. And believe me I know what it's like to equally love several options!

What matters now is your reaction when you pull the cover off. Wow that’s a good looking car is fine, but go for the one that your gut says will take your breath away and kick your heart beat up a notch. God only knows what tommorrows trends will be and who cares when you can have breath taking epic now!
