Please help with g-link lower brackets

I have looked and looked for days for the actual measurement for where to weld the lower G-link lower brackets on the rearend of a 68 Camaro. They say to put them 41.5" outside to outside of brackets......great, but that means 21.5" on one side and 21" on another from the center of the housing. How about this....can someone tell me what the measurement is from rear of axle flange to outside of brackets on non-narrowed rear 12 bolt since none of these measurements are listed in the instructions, This is a much easier way to place than from center of rearend. Please help!!!

Have you tried calling Carl at Chassisworks? They are usually really helpful with stuff like this. With it being a holiday weekend they may have already left for the weekend though.

I'd help you out but I have the Fab 9 so he measurements wouldn't really do you any good.

Once upon a time I read taht there is a jig available for doing just what you are doing. It bolts to the diff cover I think. Maybe Chassisworks could confirm that.

Either way don't rush it cause it could be an expensive mistake.

They only gave me the 41.5" measurement and they had to search for that. Having the measurement like I said would make it so much easier to properly locate and should be something that is included in the instructions. They just haven't been able to give good info on this which is a shame. The bracket you speak of is only for the upper mounts not the lowers.

can you do 21 1/4" on one side then 21 1/4" on the other?

That is kinda what I was thinking also and equal them. I understand staggered for leafs but no need for that now. The pinion is offset in the rear end also to keep the joints out of phase. Figured I would see what others thought and it looks to be the same. As long as the swaybar fits we will be good

Are you using the sway bar for a mini-tubs or standard tubs?
When I had the brackets welded on the rear the sway that I purchased had the aluminum arms, and the sway bar was a bit too wide. I had to cut it down and re-weld new end spuds on the sway bar.

I'm looking at the engineering drawing for a mini-tub housing right now. Here are the dimensions you need.

Driver side is 21.5" from the pinion centerline to outside of bracket.
Pass side is 20.5" from the pinion centerline to outside of bracket.
That centers the brackets under the car.

If you have the splined end, billet arm anti-roll bar it is helpful to just stick the bar in between the brackets and use that to help with fixturing. Also, here's some help for the angle of the brackets.

With the face of the housing at 90 degrees to the ground, the bottom edge of the LCA bracket should be 4.5 degrees below level.
