This is going to be fun helping him getting it back together. I just don't want to be the one that puts a scratch on it.

The neat thing that I like about the '60's cars is that they have lasted so long. Yes there's some rust damage, but compared to the thinner metal of cars of today these are more saveable. And they have character which is not common on modern cars. Definitely can appreciate needing to get the metal covered to avoid new rust in the Houston environment,

Keep up the good work and let us know your progress when you can.

Thanks, Rod. I should have an update tomorrow. It is starting to get a little color on it now. The blue is looking pretty sweet in person.

Okay, small update. I went by the paint shop and they are hard at work prepping it for paint and blocking the crap out of it. The plan is to shoot the firewall, cowl and interior dash with primer/sealer tomorrow followed by painting it the same final color as the rest of the car. Rest of interior is painted (nothing special, just went with semi-flat black since it will all be covered by Dynomat and anyway) Firewall is being blocked to perfection.

Inside of the fenders already got their treatment of Luxo Blue Metallic and exterior being blocked and prepped.

Kind of a blurry pic, but the inside of the fender looked suited for a very good quality exterior paint job.

...and the metallic is poppin'!

More updates coming soon. It's getting close! Thanks for reading!

Wow man just getting back to this thread and I've missed a LOT! VERY impressed with the work you've got accomplished and that paint job is KILLER! I've heard Marcel does good work. Tim (GAP) has recommended him to a few people I know.

I am not in that area anymore. Currently living in Spring Branch but likely to move back up north a little bit next year (Jersey Village maybe).

Where are you located? I'd love to come check out the car! Cant wait to see it completed and rolling around. Lot of nice first gens being built right now in the Houston area!

Keep up the good work and keep the updates coming!

William

Talking

Thanks, guys.

Alright, been a little while. Hope everyone had a good Christmas and new year. (argh! curse you burnt out Christmas light!)

Okay, so a lot of my family got me gift cards for Jegs, Ecklers, Summit, and Amazon. So, shortly after Christmas, I had a couple of things show up on my doorstep.

Well, shortly after that, cold, rainey weather, work stuff, and a six year old dominated my time. BUT I finally found myself back in the garage. No pictures on this one, but rolled out the 1/4" Dynaliner on top of the Dynamat inside the cab. Started wrapping up the wiring and everything was working, except the headlights. Check all the grounds, fuses, and tested all connections. Think I traced it down to the dimmer switch on the floor board. Local parts did not have it, so I ordered it (A little left on the Gift Card!)
While I wait on that, I shift over to brakes. Installed the new master cylinder and started work on the stainless lines.

Realized I had to remove the subframe connectors and DS loop to run them right, but got 'er done. (one good thing about bolt in )

Looked around and admiring the bottom of the car and wow, the rear-end yoke looks like a$$ compared to the rest of it. haha

Anyway, I got the dimmer switch in and I was skeptical, but I hooked it up and voila! All lights working. So I decided to start buttoning up the front and put he grill back in.

...and even the bumper. A quick light check and we are looking good.

That's it for now. I am trying to dedicate an hour each night during the week to work on this thing. Hopefully I can keep it going until the weekend. Spring is quickly approaching. Gotta pull the 383 back out of plastic wrap and do some finishing touches to prepare to drop it back in soon. That'll drop the front in down where it should be too!

Everyone's projects are looking great! ...and thanks for lookin' at mine!
