I started working the gaps…..







And modified the rear spiller for more of a pro touring look than what the Grabber spoiler had. Nothing crazy, just a few style points….









And then back in the booth for more primer…..

Now masking it all up for another round of primer on the shell….

And again ganging all the sheet metal for fit and see how it all looks together in one color….

I decided I want to make the car a roller and get it on all fours before doing any final gapping. With that the car will need to come off the dolly and have all the new suspension installed first. I figured I would paint the engine compartment now so that I can install the drivetrain completely as well.







I decided that I wanted the engine compartment to be body color, but with a matte clear. I am painting the car using PPG from start to finish. The base coat is PPG's Envirobase water base system, and for the matte clear I used the Global D8115 pre matted clear for a uniform look.







Back at home I decided to remark everything and spray the cross members and "frame" rails and spray them a matte black. I know it's anybody car, but I kind of like how it gives it a look of being a subframe…..

I really like the color choices you've made with the car. I think you nailed your grabber stripe design, too. The black frame rail area should look good and help hide dirt or oil that would stick out like a sore thumb on the blue. Love the build. Keep up the great work! Thanks for sharing the pictures.
