Default Stop tech rotors

Hi I have a 1999 Chevy Tahoe and the brakes have sucked since it was new. About 5 years ago I put Cryogenic treated rotors and Hawk pads on it and it improved the braking and the longevity of the rotors. But Its time to get some new rotors and pads. I'm going to stick with the Hawk's pads but I don't know who's rotors I bought last time. Has anybody used Stop tech rotors ? They make cryo treated rotors but I don't know anything about them. Anyone have experience with Stop Tech parts?

Thanks.

Call Tobin at Kore3, he's into 4x4 stuff also and I'm guessing he'll have a workable solution/advice for you.

My 95 Tahoe brakes were terrible, it would warp rotors if you looked at them wrong. Wagner Thermo Quiet pads worked well on it. The OEM's handicap was regulated compliant brake pad material, at least that's my understanding.

I went with the Wagner pads when I recently changed out my '05 Tundra pads and they've work well again. I'm a late, relatively hard braker on the street and I've been pleased with the pads feel and no warping issues.

That said I run Hawk HP+ on my Camaro and really like them.

I've only used Stop Tech brakes on the track, so I can't speak for their entire line, but at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, which is hard on brakes, I was able to brake hard enough to hit ABS on just about every corner , if I wanted to, without ever losing the brakes, and that was with only fluid I didn't have time to change.

I think pad compound is equally important for not warping rotors though, where in my experience most of the warping feeling comes of pad material that got too hot and is unevenly distributed on the rotor.

Great feedback.

I can't speak for the entire Centric line, because I've only used the StopTech calipers & racing rotors. The StopTech rotors are "Top Tier" for sure. The aero flow design, materials & processes make their rotors brake excellent & withstand punishing heat. I'm not talking about "ProTouring Track Day" heat levels. I'm talking 12 & 24 hour endurance road racing levels of punishing heat.

That is saying something, coming from a guy with over 35 years of breaking stuff on a professional level.

Hey David, is that 35 years of breaking stuff? ... or 35 years of braking stuff? Either way it's accurate. LOL

I've run a couple different sets and never had anything bad to say.
