Default 6spd & factory console

Hello all - kind of an in between question. In all efforts to keep the interior of my '66 Chevelle stock, I'm hoping to snuggle up a 6spd through a factory 4spd center console.

Anyone have any idea if this is possible. I don't want to go custom if I can help it...

Thanks!

"The Blackjack shifter is a low-profile, offset unit designed to fit within stock consoles and replicate stock shifter positioning. No console modifications are required when using this shifter. With the ability to set your shift stick at almost any location, this shifter will achieve stock handle placement when using a center console for the following cars: 1967-81 Camaros & Firebirds, 1964-67 Chevelles & GTO’s, and 1962-72 Chevy II/Nova’s. Made in the USA."

Default How? T-56 Magnum, Tremec shifter, OE console in 67 Camaro

I am watching this because I have sort of the same issue. I have the T-56 magnum and want to keep the stock console. The stock Tremec shifter has two really nice boots on it and they don't leak. Problem is the shifter handle attaches on the side and hits the console insert in the 1-2 gate and also going into reverse on the other side.

I would consider one of the shorter designs, but I have read threads where people have leaking issues and that isn't something I want to mess with. Who has found a good solution to this ? I know it is probably easy but I haven't figured it out yet.

Here is the thread on leaking shifters. I am not sure if this was ever resolved ?

Sorry all for the late reply. Thanks for all the responses. I've since decided to keep things simple and go without the console...
