Love the widebody Corvettes. Rendering is great! Any significance to the number 87? You mentioned L88 a few times, might be a good number too.

I chose the number because my first race car carried the #87.

The cage is coming together nicely. I'm planning to bring the car back to Tom Argue tomorrow for misc. items and paint.

Pro Fab Performance completed the cage today and I am very pleased with the result. The car is now back at Tom Argue's to paint the cage and hard top, cut/buff, etc.

I got some more inspiration last weekend at the Amelia Island Concours. They had a C3 rolling chassis which really highlighted the roll cage chassis pickup points.

Cool build. Are you just going for road race inspired or will you compete with the car?

The plan is to build the car as a street fighter with all of the safety and underpinnings for occasional track days and autocrosses. But I'm paying attention to SVRA/HSR rules, so if I get the itch again to go wheel-to-wheel racing I don't have to start completely over.
