So it's been awhile since I've updated on here. I have got a ton of things getting checked off my list! First I was just going to patch the passenger side quarter panel then the more I looked at it I decided to change it out completely. Amazing how you do the second one twice as fast. The amd sheet metal is really a step up from the crap that was being produced by other companies. So as far as sheet metal all I have left is some gaping on quarter to trunk and trying to get the anvil carbon hood to line up the best I can. After I got the quarter done I moved onto raising up the trans tunnel to clear the T56 and bell housing. I used the tunnel kit from B&B very nice to start with btw. A lot of in and out and trimming before I could weld in place.
And yes I got all rust cleaned and epoxy primed and weld thru primed! I don't ever want to this again.
Ok so I thought that the quarters were a bitch..... Well let's just say the exhaust was close to 40hrs of burnt hands, flash burn,2 band saw blades,15 cut off wheels and more four letter words then you can imagine. But after all that I'm pleased with the way it came out.
I'm hoping I can heat up the hood on passenger side corner to get it down a bit otherwise it's getting some Ring Bros hood pins or cut in some aero latches.
That exhaust looks great ... knowing you did it yourself is worth more than all the kits out there! I haven't tackled a complete exhaust and don't know if I could build one as nice as that ... especially w/o TIG experience and a machine of course!
So its been awhile since any updates and a lot has got done. My transmission showed up from American Powertrain and was able to get bolted up with engine. I also ordered the LS swap headers from Kooks and was hope full they worked with the DSE frame. I really wanted an 17/8" primary tube but couldn't bring myself to the $2200 DSE ones. I was really happy to find out they fit perfect!
She's a Roller!!
Next up is building the exhaust and fitting rest of sheet metal for final gapping and then off to paint! Just wanted to throw a shot out to Billy at B&B Classics for all the great customer service and help with all my questions.
Are you using the 060404 mounts?
Thanks!

Reason: wrong part number

Looks great ...
Thanks! I used the Stainless Works rod builder kit and a set of the Borla mufflers and Summit 3" v band clamps. Before I started welding it up I practiced a lot and still not a pro by any means!
