I drive a '12 Cruze 1.4T 60 miles daily and I really like it. I have had a few bugs with it that were fixed via warranty, but otherwise it has been bullet proof. I regularly see 32+ mpg with mixedish driving. I lean more towards highway, but still do city driving. I have over 90K miles on it right now.

The only thing negative I would say is it really is not a multi person car. I am 6'2" and I have the seat pretty far back. My youngest, 8 years old, needs me to move the seat forward to fit in the backseat. It's not too often we take my car, but when we do it can be tight.

I bought a Mazda3 for my wife. Great little car aside from a little noisy on grooved pavement. She loves it and get 37.4 mpg average.

I just bought a new Honda Fit ex that gets 34mpg city and highway combined most of the time 38mpg. Straight highway 40-53mpg depending on traffic. Fits myself, wife, 2 year old and 18 year old fine. I bought it strictly for work tho . Plenty of room inside. It was $17,500 through true car.
