Default Can I direct wire Dakota Digital BIM-01-2?

Can I direct wire it to the ECM & not use the ALDL connector?

I have the 01-1 version. Why are you trying to wire it in vs use the ALDL plug?
Just curious.

Originally I wanted to wire it direct so that it was open for the cruise control, or wire that direct too so the big plug wasn't hanging off the end, or whatever. But, I found out that my ALDL connector doesn't have the BUS terminals required to transmit the signal to the BIM module. So either way I have to run extra wires for it. So I'm going to go directly from the GMPP harness bulkhead connector to the BIM module, ±12v and ±BUS circuit all from the bulkhead connector.

Thumbs up

I am going through something similar myself. I have an OBD Y cable connected to my gmpp ALDL connector. The VHX gauges run fine off of the Y cable. I am getting ready to add the cruise and DD said the other Y connection will work fine.

The only issue I have ran into so far was the other day. I bought an ELM27 OBD dongle and wanted to use it with me iPhone track addict app on my iPhone. With the VHX stuff connected the Elm dongle would not read. After talking to DD yesterday, their Tech Dept told me that you have to change the channel on the DD obd bim module (in the big instructions). Apparently the PCM doesn't like 2 devices using the same channel to try and "read" it.

Can you run the jumper wire from the cruise control module to the BIM-02-1 module & not use another ALDL connector?

Not sure, I would call their tech dept about that one. They were friendly the past couple of times I have called.
