Didn’t you guys get the instructions with your bracket? I installed one of these a couple of years ago and it was pretty straightforward. I remember there was another bracket I had to buy also. I can dig out the instructions if anyone needs a copy.

Here are a few pics. This is a factory air car if that makes a difference. Not the easiest thing to photograph.

Excuse the mud dobber nest. Just got back on this project after a 2.5 year break.

Thanks Don I have no idea what happened that small piece that goes to the ashtray piece. It’s probably in a box somewhere with all the other parts I can’t find for the car.

DSE Can't even help with the install. No holes lined up on my car. Finally got it in (after SEVERAL hours) where it goes and the Case hit the firewall.. This thing is junk in my opinion. Took less than 30 min to mount with factory vintage air brackets and seems more sturdy anyway. (and level)

"Factory Vintage Air Brackets"?
I haven't opened my kit yet, does it come with brackets from Vintage Air?
I purchased the DSE mounting bracket thinking I need it

VA kit comes with brackets. The idea behind the DSE bracket is to avoid screw penetrations through the firewall for guys wanting a clean look. No other reason to use it as far as I know.

Default 1968 Fitment

I just bought one these brackets for my Gen IV VA unit since the body man was suppose to weld in studs before painting the car...which he didn't do and I didn't want to use the brackets that came with the unit (since I smoothed the firewall). My car is a 1968 Firebird (I know this bracket is strictly for 1969's) and the bracket seems excessively long. Has someone put this in a 67-68 and if so how did you get the bracket to fit? I see where it fits on the dash brace behind the center console but have no idea where it hits on the passenger side.
