Fantastic build! I can't wait to see it progress. I have a similar but different plan for my next Pt build (haven't told the wife) and I came across T34speed who seem to have a fair bit of experience in flaring and fitting huge meat under mustangs. If you run into any snags with your current approach it may be worth taking a look. I believe they get their flares from Ulteriormotives.

I heard Maier Racing is going to reduce their product line to only a few specific years, you might want to check it out sooner than later if your going that route.

We are actually a few days ahead of my initial post... pics above and below are from today.

Picked up some 67 Mustang Maier front and rear flares last night, and this customer already had Maier carbon front flared fenders - the right front carbon fender was trimmed, fitted, and installed today. Rear 3.25" flare is taped in place, as shown.

We're now looking a bit more optimistic about the 315mm tire situation. This car has 17x9" rear and 17x8" front with 245mm tires now. The rears can easily clear an 11" wide wheel with this flare, and the fronts should once we have the new front crossmember/suspension installed (it should gain us a LOT of front wheel room inboard)

Cheers,

It's great to see you guys posting up a new project--this place has been a bit of a desert lately. Maier has been running a 315 square setup on his blue car ('66?) for years, so he could definitely give you some tips; he's also a hell of a nice guy . . .

If you're going the way I think you are with the engine (LS3?), Corvette is always the answer with suspension/subframes, as you get sound factory engineering, geometry, performance, easy LS engine placement, light weight (especially the unsprung kind), blah, blah, blah. I say this as someone who did it (with a 1992 C4 as a base) to my functioning/driving 1963 Falcon, not as a keyboard imagination factory. At any rate, I'll definitely look forward to seeing future posts here!

Terry and I talked about going the corvette suspension route but we decided on something else. I’ll let Terry chime in and talk about the why.
