I saw the same thing on the Summit site when I was looking for my new master cylinder.

I looked it up on Amazon and it was described as having an aluminum body. Like Mark says, I think it is an error in the Summit description. However, I ordered mine from Amazon just in case.

Also, I had trouble finding 5/16" OD tubing here locally. I wound up ordering a piece of 316 stainless, 0.065" wall tubing 1' long from McMaster- Carr (PN 89495K405)

I've got all my parts on hand. Will swap out the pedals and master cylinder next week since we are in Covid 19 time out.

Thanks for the info Wes, I am calling the tech line at Dorman tomorrow to find out what they are now using for material on the master cylinder.

I purchased to Dorman part several months ago and it is aluminum.

The Wagner replacement part is made by AP, so in either case they are pretty good parts. Rockauto had both.

The Camaro has a 3" system exiting at a 45* angle backward just behind the rear tires. 17" Magnaflow mufflers is like stuffing 11# in a 10# hole. During idle and cruise it's quite nice but at WOT it makes all kinds of noise. With the Magnaflow being an absorbsion type it tends to get louder over time as the supercharger is tough on them.

When you have a chance, could you please post some pics of your roll bar install? From what I see in past pictures, looks like you have a removable harness bar, and the down bars go through to the trunk have smaller off shoots that tie in to the shock cross member. Do those happen to line up with the top of the coil over shocks? Could you provide any insight to your thought process and design of it? Plan on running door bars?

I called Dorman tech dept. today and gave him the part # listed by Mark and they told me that it is plastic and has been plastic for at least 7 years. Not sure what to think.

Apparently the secret is to order it from Summit Racing on the west-coast... Sparks, NV.

The description on Summit said "plastic", but this is what I got

I don't think you've told us about your transmission? What clutch are you going to run and what mods are done to it to help it survive from all that power and your driving style?

That’s why I ordered mine from Amazon, free shipping and return policy.

I didn’t have a big enough order to get free shipping from Summit at that time.

I got mine in early February and it has an aluminum body. I’ve already removed the crimped on factory connection and it is threaded just like Mark described.

I was hesitant when I ordered mine also. I figured if it wasn’t metal I would return it and try again from somewhere else.
