Since I couldn't do my own tig welding, I have $2k and 6 months in my headers. I did all the fitting and mock up. The final welding I paid for plus the coating. I'm learning to tig so I'll be able to do it again for less but it's still time consuming and expensive. It's something you have to want to do. It's typically not cheaper than finding someone to do it for you. Those GP Headers look awesome. Why did they not fully weld the collectors on?

Thanks, they turned out nice and the best part is they fit! As for the collectors, They were supposed to be slip fit but I had no reason for them to be removable, so they welded them. I assume the way the tubes wedge into the collector, there's no need for complete welding.

My assumption was that it was a tight fit but I wasn't sure. Thanks Herb.

Are your brake ducts going through the frame? If so, as one piece or do you have a coupler through the frame and attach the flex hose on each side of the coupler?

Yes they go through the frame via a piece of 3" tubing welded in place. The hoses then attach on either side.

It's been a busy week! I installed the headers and they fit like a glove! So happy how they turned out. Next on the list was to make the connections from the headers to the exhaust. That's all done and the only thing left is to have thermal barrier coating applied at some point.

I've also been chipping away at plumbing and wiring. I'm waiting for some fittings to finish the power steering lines and I think plumbing is done. Wiring is at the beginning stage. Battery cables are in place and most of the EFI harness is in. Slow progress, but at least it's progress.

What the consensus on running BATT cable & fuel lines when relocating a battery?

I always thought they're ok on the same side as long as each was positively secured but I've read where others say they should be ran on opposing sides of the frame. I can see where 'opposing sides' would ultimately be safer (given the distance between) but not sure of the likelihood they would only cross somewhere else.
