We got changes going on this Mustang... My blank canvas idea with a full custom chassis & floors had to change.. The owner wants to keep it a bit more simple since it will be his son's first car.. but these changes are not a bad thing.. cause I had to give up something to get something new.. those changes will come later when I have a design layout... The structure will still be stiffened up & the floor mated pretty decent to the new rockers we fabricated.. The Coyote motor is a challenge with the transmission.. Their was talk today about a LS motor.. but was able to keep the motor we started with..

Are you keeping the universal DSE front clip in the design?
Thanks, Wes

Go LS! I can think of someone that might want the Coyote, if it was a good deal

Well Matt! it is offical.. LS3 with T56 transmission is gonna be the offical power plant for the 70 Stang... Things just alot easier for us! The owner just really likes LS engines but likes the 70 Mustang.. I will try to make the union of both something a little special

So, I got a 2011 Coyote with manual transmission up for sale with only 2k miles on it..

Mario- It has its challenges to put it in their.. But every time I call the owner & tell him that I have to modify this & that to get it to fit.. His statement is .. A LS engine would be easier & keep cost down.. The plan is to set the LS engine & trans in right now & if the Coyote is still around I will try to fit in their on my account just to see what it takes to make it work..

The motor is wide everywhere.. The alternator is a problem.. it hits the stub.. The power steering pump mounting location with A/C compressor.. Though Vintage Air just is fixing on releasing a new bracket assembly for the Coyote..

The LS engine is easy for us because we have a bunch of parts lying around here.. Track systems, Intakes, Mock up engines & etc..

I hate the idea of an LS in a Ford. Those things are in everything. But there is a reason. What was Ford thinking going with such a large engine? I think the Coyote even out does the Boss 429 when it comes to space requirements. They try to market it as a motor for your project but there arent many cars out there that dont require a complete custom front end to make the thing fit.

Cris, if you haven't seen this finished build already, these guys swapped a Coyote into the smaller 66 'Stang.

Im familiar with it. Even with the Heidts Mustang II front end he still had to modify the headers. It does look impressive sitting there though. Same with the Pegasus Mustang. The 5.0 looks massive. They started with a frame and motor and built the car around it.
