Many cars that you see with glass hood have the same problem. You have to remember the time frame in which the car was built. Approx. 3 months.

I was watching it on TV. Totally awesome those 2 guys bid the thing up and eventually gave $500K for it. When you see the young man with the two artificial legs out there(lost his legs in battle), giving a short speech about how you might see him running around dancing after a few drinks, and how he is still on active duty, you just gotta love that. It puts things in true perspective, and certainly humbled the sh_t out of me. That young man is my hero, and I stood up and applauded the old guy who gave $500K to help out young warriors like that.

Congrats to Bill Jelinek and the Route 66 Motorsports crew out of New Lenox, IL, who built the car. These guys put a lot of blood and sweat, not to mention hours into this build.

It is indeed a great cause and my hat is off to the new owner.
