If you run two catch cans you can have a working pcv system and good venting.

Ls6 valley cover port to sealed catch can to intake vacuum.

Both valve covers to vented catch can.

That's an interesting idea, so I would run lines to catch cans with breathers on them and have a port on them that is above the bottom of the can that goes to the same port my PCV goes too?

Does the can have to be below or above the valve cover?

Would I still run a pcv?

Make sure the can going to the intake is sealed (no vent on top). It doesnt matter if they are below or above the engine level. I ran the lines into the can about 3/4 up the can. You dont need the pcv valve. The LS6 valley cover has a nice baffle inside.

So can I use the ls7 baffle on an old school SBC? If so how and do I just get it from the dealer/jobber.

My bad, I have LS1 on the brain! Too much time on Ls1tech.

On a SBC Ive had great luck with these. You would have to weld the tubes in the exhaust but your wont have any oil blowby messes or need to drain catchcans.

On a SBC, I have one valve cover breather that is ported through to a fitting in the carb spacer. The other valve cover has a breather. I guess my assumption is that the crankcase gases are being drawn into the intake and burned by the engine? Is this an ineffective arrangement, or just one that will result in some white smoke from the burned oil....

Nate --- that's "typically" a race car evac system which requires some good exhaust flow to create any "draw" --- That -- and with an EFI motor -- you wouldn't want to be dumping any unburned oily fumes upstream of the O2 sensor.

Do you use this on a street driven car?? I'm asking because a buddy has this same kit and wanted to install in on his 8 stack injected BBC... and wasn't certain it would really work for a street driver. Of course - he'd have to install the draft tubes AFT of the O2.

Yes I used it on my Nova when I had a SBC 383. It worked well from what I could tell. Some guys on other boards have been considering using it on LS1 turbo stuff to avoid all the catch cans, check valves, etc. I think it would work well. Probably not as well as intake vacuum, but its so simple and gaurantees no oil in the intake.

Heres a pic of mine you can see the 10AN on the back of the passenger side valve cover a little cleaner looking spot to place it if you have the room and its ducted to a Stefs breather canister thats on the back side of my inner fenderwell so its hidden and on the driverside valve cover im running a billet specialties pcv valve that will be connected to back of carb so the only thing on top of my valve covers is the oil bung.
Oh the valve covers are wearing primer here getting painted this week lol
