I have to agree.... You have a tremendously cool hood (weren't we just talking about SS hoods, Jason?) that's not often seen... A creative paint treatment around the factory inserts would wake it up (assuming you're bored with the hood)... I think that an oversized cowl hood would just be overkill, and throw the car's natural balance waaaayyyy off, making it appear nose-heavy, not to mention making it look like some drag strip refugee....
Again, just my opinion...

Haven't we had this discussion before? LOL! As most have said. If you need the clearance, obviuosly run it. If not, I woudn't. IMO, I think it overpowers the car. I personally like the SS hood. It's different. You don't see them them often. But then again I'm a little partial... Car looks great Max!!

I agree, stick with the SS hood or 2" cowl hood, the 4" is a bit much for anything other than a drag car .

A 4" cowl hood is run when you HAVE TO RUN IT.. I would keep the SS hood you have or go with a standard cowl hood.

Funny thing is that Penny actually looked pretty good with the 4" hood, but it HAD to be ran due to the engine.

I had one on my car once and it was the most regrettable purchase I ever made. I hated the damn thing so much that I never painted it...just kept it in it's grey gell coat. I sold it at Camaro Superfest to some drag racer for about $25. It was such a relief to get rid of it.

But hey you do what you want...it's your car.

Well, its pretty obvious what the concensus is here! LOL thanks for the feedback guys... I was really torn, hood clearance is an issue, but not worthy of the 4" cowl deal. Maybe a 2"... Right now i have a 1 3/4" air cleaner on it and thats it... pretty sad.

Next question... think i could run a hair dryer blower with a stock crank, forged rods/pistons?

NO!!! Dont go with a 4" hood!!!

What are your hp goals/boost # to get there? Frank had ATI set mine up for 600 hp. Even though the stock crank should have been fine, while I was buying forged rods and pistons I decided it would be a good time to get the proper forged crank and have it all balanced...cost a little more up front but I see is a cheep insurance!
