There's a guy doing a mod motor into 69 fastback over at SVT performance.
Here's a link for any one interested - looks pretty cool so far.

There are a few guys putting 4.6 DOHCs into all sort of vehicles.
into Mavericks, old Galaxies and Mustangs, Fairmonts, Rangers and others.

I also got into the act and did this:
Click it !

You can follow up my progress here:
http://cobra4me.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=9 - Project SuperCobra
there are ton of pictures and Videos, it made 435RWHP on the dyno and weighs 2500 lbs. - there's a video on the dyno.

I also have a couple of other projects going on, like installing Everything out of a wrecked 2003 GT Mustang into an 87 Mustang, I named it Project "Double Displacement" , (going from a 2.3 to a 4.6):
http://www.cobra4me.com/phpBB/viewforum.php?f=13

and I also built the Blue Cobra here back in 2000, but I just sold it, I still have the Black Nova:

also built this 69 SS (originally a 350) but put a 468 (454 block), sold it.

anyways, there are quite a few builders putting all sort of engines into different vehicles ! There's a guy putting a new Hemi into a Cobra Roadster, another has put a Viper engine and tons are using LSx engines too. it's just crazy!

BTW - I am new to this cool forum !

Alan Johnson put the 4.6 Cobra engine in my 48 Ford Woodie 3 years ago. He built a new intake for it to get rid of the side throttle body. It is a beautiful engine now. You can see it on his web site..johnsonshotrodshop.com..The accessories are all tucked in nice and neat in the front..the heads are monsterous. The investment casting block polishes up very easily. It looks very big and imposing under the hood. He also put the Ford V/10 in my 56 Ford F1 Truck. Only motor I ever saw that filled up the cavernous F1 engine compartment. The 4.6 sounds great too. When it hits the pipe, it really screams. Did anyone see my buddys 55 Ford F1 at Nashville, and Columbus. It has a 2003 blown 4.6 with a 6 speed and independent rear out of a 03 Cobra. He will be running it at Pigeon Forge in the Autocross. He won the autocross in the hotrod division at Nashville..

Most versions are all aluminum...the 03 blown one had an iron block..the weight isn't bad..it's just damn wide..wider than a boss 429 I've been told

Also check out XV Motorsports on the links column to the left, theyre making stuff for new hemis now.

The 6.1/4 hemis are doing pretty well but they can't hold a candle to the V10. Yeah it's a good bit lighter (the stock V10 crank is near 100lbs) but the torque and HP potential of the V10 is hard to beat.

Oh and I hope to god they don't pull this hemi marketing stunt on the V10. Mopar makes a dozen heads that are FAR superior to the production hemi and would be HUGELY beneficial to the viper. If they want a "hemi" copy the P5/7 head in a V10 and go with it. 800hp N/A would be cake.

In reality they don't need to do much to the viper to kick the power up. If they bump it to 11:1 and spin it to 7500 like the vette it would make huge HP increases.

I'll let you guys know shortly how an 8200rpm 540" viper motor does And then stuff a couple monster turbos on top.
