I think you just don't wanna show us your driving.
I charged it the night before, set it to default on video......in the morning before my sessions I turned it on, double checking that it was in video mode.....twice I had to reset it to video........after every session i went to turn it off and it turned off by its self..........who knows when!! I haven't checked the SD card yet because I left the camera in the car at Vinces but my guess is there wont be anything worth sharing.
The next video you see from me will be from my digital camera........taking a single jack to the gopro in front of there headquarters in Halfmoon Bay

Not saying your GoPro is working properly, but I've sold 50+ with very few issues. When I had an issue with my first gen camera they handled it very efficiently and sent a new camera. The menu system is complex and due to the camera's size it's challenging, especially for me because without reading glasses I can't see it.

I'd download the pdf version of the instructions and print out in 8.5 x 11 and read the key elements. Then make sure the latest firmware is loaded, reset the camera to factory defaults. You may want to set the camera to one button feature that turns it on and starts recording in the selected mode with one touch of the shutter button.

They aren't perfect but they do have millions of satisfied customers and the company's rate of growth is relatively impressive.

If it still isn't functioning to your satifaction I'd send it to GoPro to confirm it doesn't have a glitch.

Mines been doing the same thing Gaetano. I tend to agree with Sieg, it's a set up thing with a timer to shut it off, I just haven't had a chance to look into it.

I still have the box and the directions. I set it up again just like I did when I first started using it. I'm thinking maybe something happens to them in time.....battery malfunction.....something.
It's time to step up a notch.....I want something with a remote that I can turn on in the dash area......too much of a pain to have to turn around with my belts and helmet on.
I think Greg is right.....GPS is the way to go. I want to be able to see my speeds in turns, g-forces, etc

I would compare his wheel work to a large midwestern woman churning butter...yes I have seen both. LOL

oh, not wise to leave a camera or video recording device with the Meanstreets bunch...you might get unwanted footage. LOL

With the Contour's Bluetooth app you can use a smart phone as your dash controller..........handy. http://contour.com/software/mobile/overview

I'm not sure what the data logging capabilities are though....their site is vague.

The Contour+ may be the way to go with the external microphone and 170* field of view features. http://contour.com/products/compare_cameras

If you want a real system get something like a Traqmate. I want one of those in the coming years.

Gaetano let me know the next time you're out on track and I'll mail my contour 1080p to you ahead of time so you can test the brand out for yourself. Like GW said it's super easy to use, especially with gloves on which is nice. The best camera you have is the camera that works!

I must say though the newest Gopro's have killer in-car video quality and external mic jack. Both are features I envy with my current Contour, but Contour ease of use has been a session-saver many times.
