Did a similar thing to my 1930 Cabriolet.
The OE Ford color for the top was a Beige colored canvas material. The OE color combo is Bronson Yellow/Seal Brown/Orange striping w/dark Brown interior so nothing inside or outside of the car had Beige. The Seal Brown was re-painted Black back in the late 50's which compliments the Black running boards + fenders so when I purchased new top material, I requested Black canvas. I got a lot of questioning & pushback on the choice, but it matches the car as-is & I have ZERO intention of ever restoring/making it a museum piece.
Looking forward to more progress updates.
