Long story short, when I started this project originally I had something specific in mind. Basically I let people talk me out of what I wanted and into some choices I didn't really want when it came to my car. So after debating a lot about things with cost and how much of a set back it is, I decided that I can always make more money and I'd rather be happy in the end instead of regretfull.

So, here we go, starting all over with the suspension.

A friend of mine wanted my speedtech front clip and as luck would have it, he had the full front and rear suspension, transaxle, torque tube, and a bunch of other parts from a '04 C5 Z06. We made a deal in which we both came out ahead and I got a little extra cash to help offset materials cost for the mods.

Now for the measurements, they are really close. As in borderline it might be possible to not cut suspension or outer body panels with a custom offset wheel. I'll be calling forgeline Monday to see how close I can get. This is where the stock offset wheels sit. They need to move in about 1.5"

This is just a rough setup to get some measurements off of while I wait for the stock vette rear frame to show up. Based off a XLR we had at work I got some measurements off of, the outside to outside frame rail is 10" to wide to use in my car. However the inside to inside measurement does indeed fit inside the stock '69 outer rockers so I'd be able to run 2x3 or possibly 2x4 square tube in the rocker and use stock C5 fuel tanks as well. More to come on that as I get the car braced up, a frame jig built, and more cut out of the car.

So not a lot has been going on with the car. I've been getting things lined up in order to make this happen. I picked up a wrecked C5Z and dropped it off to get the frame back in check. This takes care of my fuel system, suspension mount points, some of the firewall, and trans tunnel.

While it's at the body shop I decided on Anvil carbon mirrors.

And then I started seeing if power mirror motors will fit. Going to be tight, but should work.

Last night I did some really rough mock up. And I mean really rough lol

It's going to be really really close without cutting metal

Today I built a frame jig that I could use to keep the car mobile, hold it from moving around and be able to mount brackets to help hold the new suspension in place. I still have some more body brackets to attach, but I got the harder stuff stuff done.

Saturday got off to a late start because of rain and having to move cars around at work. So I did't get to what I wanted to do. Instead I got the fuel tank mounts trimmed to fit, then hammer and dollied the dents and scrapes out of them.

I've decided to start doing some wiring where I can by getting the pig tails built. So far I have half of the transmission connectors and some of the engine sensors done.

I also got the Vapor Worx controllers mounted for my fuel system behind the driver seat.

I finished up the day doing a finial marking for trim on the core support.

And laying out a 5th gen Camaro hood vent with the Anvil vents.

And because everything is lined up and this was a good angle of the car.
