Hey Mark, do you typically run the same brake pad for both street and track days?

If so which one?

Thanks

I think I will have 2 sets of brakes for this car. The track setup with the Brembo and Monoblock Forgeline wheel (Pictured below). To keep with look of the car I’m going to order new Forgeline OE wheels that will take poverty cap hub caps. For the OE style wheel I’ll need to run stock C6 Corvette brakes. For just cruising around the OE black steel looking wheels will work well.

If you need to use one pad use a HP1000 Ferodo material. It is a good mix of street and moderate track usage. If you are going to hit the track hard I have had great luck with Pagid pads. Brake pads, calipers and rotors are a personal choice. There are a lot of good companies and parts out there. I’m just going off my experience. There is not 100% right best answer, every application is a little different.

Mark

Thanks for the respose Mark.

I'm not finding anything for C6 Z06 from Ferodo except these.....

Ferodo DS2500 Brake Pads - Padlets

HP1000 possibly discontinued?

Pad choices for C6 Z06 are somewhat limited because of the funky padlet design for those calipers.

The DS2500 is a street plus moderate track pad. I used them on my C7 vette for a couple of track days, they worked OK. They were quiet on the street, but like all performance pads were more dusty than the OEM pads.

If you're a newer track driver doing autoX or a couple of HPDE per year on street tires, the DS2500 may work OK. More experienced drivers running a car like the Z06 on multiple track days a year, and/or with stickier tires, typically swap to a specific track pad with matching rotors on track days. Like Mark said, it depends.

You might look in the autoX and road racing section of the Corvette forum: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...roadracing-23/ Lots of experience there.

Default Hobbs Camaro (Old Drag Car)

The extra connector is to add the missing sensor so you can do a Tech 2 ABS bleed. A Tech 2 ABS bleed is where you use a GM diagnostic tool to activate the valves in the ABS module to get the air out.

The car was repainted in the 1980s and had a ton of overspray in the door jams. Because the doors have never been off the car we just cleaned it up.

Mark, you mentioned the C6 brakes (assuming base) fit in the Forgeline OE wheels. Do you know if they fit in 18” size ones?
