Cool

That looks very nice! What finish are you gonna use? Will that be too shiny for a paint to stick to properly? Just asking cuz I might detail a couple parts and then paint em .... maybe?

Thanks guys. Looking at Al Moreno's boys build has spoiled me., I can't imagine how long it took to get them as nice as they did.
Michael, That is done with 120,240 then 320 and then red Scotch brite. The 120 makes it kind of rough. I'm not sure about paint sticking yet, I will adjust as necessary. A painter I know said they make something to help bond the paint to aluminum. I forget the name. All I can think of is gorilla or bull dog ???? They were terrible from GM. If I figure out the name I'll post it.
Forgot to mention in some places it was so rough I used a file made to file points.

Wayne that looks great and I know what you mean about the Moreno brothers. I have been watching the G5R build on Camaro5 for a few years and that car is going to be insane.

They did a lousy cast job.

Wayne if you are using spray can to paint I have used Bulldog Adhesion Promoter with good success on metal and plastic.
I think I ordered through Eastwood. Parts look nice also. Nice work.

Thanks Guys
I wasn't sure of the name I guess I've been seeing to many Gorilla tape commercials.

I have been watching the G5R build on Camaro5 .. Me too Marty amazing stuff they're doing.

Here is one of the belt tensioners.

Its weird in the last picture you can still read the part number as well as my dirty finger prints .

I'll post some of the Alt/PS bracket when I can get to it.

Now this is a Beautiful piece from G.5, Al Moreno's crew.

Spent the day out in the garage today. Swapped out the AutoKraft oil pan and dip stick, then I washed down the motor and sprayed it with Eastwood's 2K High temp ceramic gloss clear. I'm no painter by any stretch of the word but I'll tell you it came out nice! The nozzle was great, nice fan pattern and it worked great. I also cleared my Street & Performance LS swap adapters. They look great.

Tomorrow I plan on rotating the engine right side up.( This thing seems so heavy on this engine stand.)
Then we will change the supercharger lid to the ZL1, and put the swap plates on. then see where we go from there.

That looks really good There is a hint of grey, yes? Wonder if that would be an alternative to hardcoating Al parts ....hmmmm?

Keep plugging away ... it's gonna get cold again real soon!

Cold for sure. The engine is gloss clear it does look darker in the picture.
I'm trying to get the gas service extended through the cellar to the garage and hopefully the heater installed.

More time in the garage today. We got the ZL1 lid on and the swap plates and motor mounts. We had to grind down the spacer plates from the back of the poly motor mounts so they would sit flat against swap plates, then I sprayed them with some paint to prevent any rust build up. If I would have thought of it before I painted the swap plate, I would have routed them out to fit. Lesson learned.
I had -12 AN fittings put on the the ZL1 lid so I can use a -12 to-16 hose fittings to matchup to my Stewart EMP water pump which has a 1" hose ends, it should make a difference in the IAT2 temps with more flow.
