Default 285/40-18 on a stock 69 camaro...will it fit???

just wondering if i will have any problems fitting a 285/40-18 on a 10" rim under my stock 69. the fenders have been rolled, so i imagine that should help a little. with the correct backspacing do you think i will have any problems? thanks....

Default I assume that you are speaking of a 69

not going to fit.

I have a 285/19/35 on mine and it took a slight mini tub to get it to fit. Tire width inflated on the rim is right at 12 inches.

I believe that a 275 is about as big as you can go.

It also depends on the brand of tire. Some have straight sidewalls, some bulge outwards. I have 285 wide tires on 18x10 (5.5 bs) on my '69 Camaro. The car isn't slammed, but it did require fender lip rolling.

Nitto tires tend to have straighter sidewalls, and I believe Yokos do also. Other tires like BFG/Goodyear etc.. stick out more.

i have an 18x10 with a 295 and it fits, but does run a little bit on my driveway.

my backspacing is 5.75 inches. a 285 SHOULD fit if you nail the backspacing. you can also talk to the dude from twist machine with the gold camaro. i got the measurements from him, and he runs 285 without problems. and he drives his car pretty hard.

also, both cars (mine and the twist machine car), are 67 and 68 respectivly. if im not mistaken, the 69 has a little bit more room under there as well.
