Smoothing the underside of a 2" cowl: What do you do?

Smoothing the underside of a 2" cowl??

I am not a big fan of the underside of the plain 2" cowl hoods.

What do you guys do to smooth the underside of the hood? I was thinking of fabricating up a thin sheet of metal to underside, but I haven't got a chance to look at my hood to see.

I have seen some hoods that are smooth, but I wasn't sure how they did it.

Has anyone done this or have any pictures?
