So I have wanted to write some SEMA reviews of my favorite products at SEMA. Sorry it took a few days. Lots of catch up after Larry’s MotiV8tr, SEMA, being gone 10 days is brutal. So now that I can catch my breath……………………
Bonspeed Wheels: New wheel styles and new steering wheels
I was lucky enough to be invited to the party of the year, the Bonspeed Bash to hang with the Bonspeed Boys and top builders in the country, and other automotive celebrities. Besides unlimited free alcohol and good conversation, I was also treated to a sneak peak at some killer new designs, a re release of a killer design wheel, and also a preview of the new steering wheel line.
Bonspeed is our bang for the buck wheel. When you combine the great 2 piece billet construction, the unique styles you do not have to worry about seeing on every other car at the cruise in, along with the killer finish options, and the fantastic price. Bonspeed is absolutely the best 2 piece billet wheel in its price point.
As I mentioned, there were a few new releases and a re release of a now very popular style. Lets take a look
The Jag X is a wheel Bonspeed invented in 2004 for their SEMA Project (a 2005 Jaguar) named Jag X. The wheel may have been ahead of it’s time in 2004 with it's cutting edge 8 spoke design. But lucky for all of us it is available now. Combine this wheel with unlimited center finishes and you have a cutting edge design. I love it.
The Bonspeed S/S is a twist on the mega popular 5 spoke. In full polish this wheel plays toward the traditionalist that still wants a full polish wheel but wants to be a little more edgy with a 5 spoke wheel.
When I look at the Superstar I see Mopar for some reason. But I think this would look great on any car. I would like to see this on a 70 Cuda!
The Bonspeed T Rex is not a 5 spoke or a 10 spoke we are all so used to seeing, but an 8 spoke which is kinda cool. I see this right at home on a street rod or a street rod influenced muscle car.
The Bonspeed Vin Speed just makes me think Slotted mags! I am a little Old school and can see this wheel on something of mine. I think the traditionalist that wants to stick his tow in the modern wheel waters is going to dig this wheel the most.
