Default RS Performance 70 Chevelle Drop Top **PICS**

Here is the latest Chevelle we have just completed for a customer out of Canada. It is a '70 Convertible pro-touring ride with a high-end European flair. This customer purchased our test car, the Orange '66, about a year ago and then decided to go forward with a '70 convertible about a month later. He wanted a car that would handle and perform every bit as good, but wanted a more elegant, refined look to the car, while keeping the traditional lines of the car. This car is highly detailed and a ton of unique, subtle modifications.
  • RS Performance Chassis
  • Double adj. c/o's with remote resovoirs at all corners
  • Wilwood 14.25" 6-Piston's up front, 13" 4-Pistons out back
  • LS7 - 640 HP by Turn Key Performance
  • T-56 Viper Spec trans by Bowler Performance
  • Forge Line 19x10 and 20x12
  • Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 265/30R19 and 335/30R20
  • Custom stainless tank by Rock Valley

Custom Work
  • Sectioned and narrowed front bumper. License plate recess filled
  • Bumper Tucked tight to body
  • Upper radiator close out panel and trim
  • Upper inner fender close out panels
  • Re-shaped lower edge of stock inner fender and added a bead to it
  • Air intake
  • Shaved and smoothed firewall
  • RS cowl vent panel
  • Sheet metal dash
  • Aluminum center console
  • Sectioned, narrowed, and tucked rear bumper
  • Recessed fuel tank into trunk floor
  • Rear belly pan
  • 3" SS exhaust

The car is now out at the Recovery Room for Upholstery.

Wanted to keep some what of a stock feel on the dash, but give more of a modern look. We were not happy with the overwhelming width of the gauge area in a stock dash. The gauge area was shortened and the gauges were recessed back into the face. A new middle section was fabricated to house the A/C vents and stereo. We used the stock glove box door, but built a complete new dash face on the passenger side. The Recovery Room will be building a custom dash pad for the top.

We made a die form for a recessed sheet metal panel for the Vintage Air Streamline A/C controls. These will be available on our web site shortly if anyone is interested.
