semi-smooth firewall?

I want to partially smooth out the sheet metal transition on my 67 firebird and was wondering if it would be o.k to use a metal based body filler instead of seam sealer and smooth out the transition. I'm not looking for a completely smooth firewall look; just factory with a little flair. Is this a good option?

if there is a seam,it will have to be welded and ground smooth before any filler can be applied or you will be taking a chance on filler cracking

Got it; so weld it up, grind smooth, then use metal based filler

yep that's the way to do it, if you're patient enough you can weld and smooth out the welds to where you won't need any filler,but it takes time

I just did a little work on my smooth firewall today heres a few photos!

same here.. I had some issues on mine though...had to cut out smaller patch due to warpage.
