Deuce -
I have a 37 Ford MINOTTI project.... and I was going to originally install a C4 Corvette IRS... but every single frame guy I talked to said "DON'T DO IT"... It's not that it's complicated or expensive... their reasons were more about suspension geometry and ride... mostly to do with the narrowing of the half shafts etc. So I know have that IRS (a nice Dana 44 Hvy duty unit with 3:42's) rolling around on a dolly. Any takers? LOL
Anyway - I had a local shop build me a whole new chassis after discussing this chassis with every shop that builds 'em. I talked to RS - Pete and Jakes - etc...
I wanted a "driver" - put stuff in the trunk - the wife in the passenger seat - and head to San Diego... So I went with INBOARD mounted leaf springs - a Currie Ford 9" with Strange nodular 3:73's - Speedway Engineering torsion style sway bar - Heidts Superride front with coilovers - Wilwoods all around - including manual master (floor mounted) and a power rack... They talked me into the leaf spring rear end because then I can load the trunk up and not be bottoming out etc... so we'll see... I'm keeping my finger crossed. I've got an LS6 that I'm going to use - but I'm going to carb it I think... So super simple hot rod... with a 700r4 that I have...
Jason Rushforth has to come up with new paint and wheels etc... this is so old skool suck... but I bought it just as a project so didn't care.
