I thought that was very funny as well !

But since I have no experience with a Prius, can anyone tell me if the shifter actually does anything, or is it similar to the fly by wire throttle? Does the shifter just send a signal to the computer? If so, can the computer get the same "confusion" over the gear selection as it can from the throttle position? In which case it would not respond to any signal telling it to switch into neutral .......

Still a hilarious video. Keeping the mask to avoid Toyota lawyers perhaps? Maybe works at a dealership?

When you have driven a couple of winters on snow in an automatic transmission car, you learn real quick to put it into neutral when sliding.

Good questions, we rented one when we went to Detroit for the DAR last month to see if we could make it do anything. I tried to put it in neutral and it did so just fine, I tried to turn it off a few times but would not let me I did not know you had to hold it. It would be interesting to find out all this as I am sure you can get it into neutral and just let it blow up. who cares Toyota will give you a new one if the problem is really there. There might be something in the computer messing up and not responding, who knows until it happens to one of us we will never find out.
