Default Do you guys think this is right??

You guys know I have been looking around for a PT type Mustang. I have been looking at this car for 2 months and had a friend of mine look at it. I left him a message about 2 weeks ago but he said he never got it. Sunday night, I saw that he had listed it on E-bay. I called him yesterday (monday) and we struck a deal. He said he would fax over a bill of sale and copy of title by this morning. I said as soon as I got them, I would transfer the money asap. Got to the office this morning and no paperwork.. I called him, left a message, sent a e-mail with no responce. About 3 hrs later, his wife calls and said that the car was her's and she wanted to leave it on e-bay until the auction ended. What I think happened was, last night the bid was about 25k, this morning it was 45k and still is, I think they think they can get alot more money than what we agreed on, which was more than 45k.. In my book, a deal is a deal. Maybe I'm wrong? Here's the link..

You're not wrong SW. I am like you in that I'm a man of my word. I have made a deal before and been offered a lot more to sell to someone else, but I never even considered it.

Problem is, most people are not that way in regards to money. I would probably explain that we had a deal, and if he does not honor it he's on his own. If it doesn't reach your price he loses, hopefully a lot.

Remember, everything happens for a reason. Good luck my friend.

This a nice looking car.

I wish someone would come out with a front spoiler like that for a first generation Camaro.

Do you know if this guy's wife was involved in the deal that the two of you agreed to? Perhaps she wasn't and when she found out what he did she was furious. Hey...I don't tell my wife everything, and it's usually had devasting results in the bedroom. LOL!!!! (sorry...too much info? ) Unless she was standing right there and was involved in the deal, you can't blame her for nixing it and sticking to her original plan to let it ride on eBay.

I will say this though....that is a KILLER mustang. But with the black paint and wheels it almost looks like your '69 Camaro.

All I know about this car is this. I am bidding on Kona and I received an unsolicited email on the ebay system from the seller to check the car in question's auction. To them, the car is in play, which is a bit shady to me when a deal with SW has been struck already.

Wow, that's Heath Elmer. I talked with him a couple years back when I was considering buying his PT-style two-tone GN and he was a stand-up guy. Sorry to hear he flaked on you.

He does nice work, but backing out of a deal is a no-no and passing off the "brush off" to the wife is pretty lame IMO.
